Proper Storage for Your Fine Art and Designs

Crystal Clear Bags

I finally decided to get up off my lazy butt and properly store away my University artwork from 3 years ago. Of course being 3 years too late to properly store away art entailed some damages to my paintings that are irreversible. But if you’re reading this it’s not too late to save your paintings, drawings, prints, and artwork from melting away.

I ordered several plastic bag protectors from Crystal Clear Bags Canada for my artwork and I’m so comfortable with it’s protection that I’d actually be willing to pull it out and show people without worrying that I’m going to deteriorate it every time I touch it. Not only did they send it immediately, but it arrived in 2 days all neatly packaged. The best part was that I was able to order custom sizes for each of my art pieces. I can’t even begin to tell you how many sizes they have for these plastic protection bags. You have to take a look for yourself here. I highly recommend their services and products whether you’re a curator, independent artist, or amateur alike.

Here are three important tips if you’re planning to store away your art for the future:

1. Keep them all in a cool and dry place (my paintings melted because I kept them in my bedroom)
2. Keep them away from sunlight
3. Keep heavy weights off of them if you’re stacking them

I hope this helps you preserve your artwork for many years to come. The best and last piece of advise I can you give is, don’t wait for a “free-day” to get this off your to-do list. Art does have an expiry date and if you wait too long it will get ruined, put it away properly ASAP!!
